‘Peace’ junkets galore

12:03 AM May 08, 2017

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said quite a mouthful about the nonsense the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) is always prone to spewing out (“Lorenzana says CPP delusional on Bohol attack,” News, 4/17/17). Mincing no words, he lashed out at the CPP for becoming “delusional” and “a victim of its own propaganda when it claimed that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was behind the bandits’ incursion in Central Visayas.”

Lorenzana seemed to be the type who would never give the communist rebels the time of day— given their penchant for stabbing anyone in the back, ambushing soldiers even on humanitarian missions, ignoring any truce agreement, etc. He and the soldiers know only too well those barbarians have no more respect for their so-called leaders comfortably living abroad. Jose Ma. Sison, et al. can only come up with all kinds of excuses—never admitting that they have lost control of their own people in this country who have become marauding bandits.

So why are President Duterte’s errand boys squandering their time and taxpayer money talking to pretenders? Those travels abroad have become no more than junkets.
