Anti-Duterte criticisms just blatherskite from AI and human rights’ advocates?

Rights group concerned with El Chapo,” blared a news item datelined New York (News, 4/1/17) — an “irony of Amnesty International” (AI) not lost to the Americans, noting that our own President Duterte must be “seeth(ing) in anger.”  El Chapo, referring to the alleged Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman, was in and out of jail in his country for some time, but finally was extradited to and now is detained in the United States. AI denounced his detention under “unnecessarily harsh” conditions.

Whoa, AI’s heart bleeding for that scumbag whose pernicious drug trade destroyed millions of lives around the world?!  It makes us wonder if AI is benefiting from funds derived from drug lords worldwide.

Everyone, please, take a look again at the pictures on the front-page and page A10 of the March 31 Inquirer issue, where thousands of human beings are reduced to nothing more than a huge pile of garbage in absolutely inhuman jail conditions. The cover story noted that “the congestion rate… had risen to 3,000 percent due to the influx of inmates charged with drug cases.”

And what has the AI, let alone its local stooges (the Commission on Human Rights officials), done about that other than criticizing Du30 for his iron-fisted and death-dealing approach for drug pushers and their lords? Nothing, nada. This is the kind of blatherskite from such blabbermouths that makes them sound totally irrelevant, if not downright despicable.
