The first thing Rodrigo Duterte did after winning the election was to visit his mother’s grave and ask for her help in tackling a humongous responsibility.
Despite his apparent disrespect for women, he could not be overchummy (as he is with the demure Vice President Leni Robredo) with two daughters of former presidents—Imee Marcos and Kris Aquino. They are too smart and world-wise to be awed by Du30.
Both suffered exile in the United States and also lost their fathers in the process.
Hence, President Digong could not renege on his promise to Imee during the election campaign about the controversial Marcos burial. And ditto with the obvious snub of Kris in a scheduled interview.
President Digong could be meek as a lamb, so to say, before either the Ilocos Norte governor or the famous show biz celebrity.
In this wise, he could not be overbearing with his strong-willed daughter Sara as the Davao City mayor. This has been shown on many occasions.
