Supreme Court spokesperson Theodore Te offered the arrant nonsense that there was no order in the Supreme Court’s Nov. 8, 2016 decision barring the Marcos burial, hence there was no legal impediment to the sneaky, furtive, clandestine and “thief-in-the-night” interment of Ferdinand E. Marcos.
Te being the Supreme Court spokesperson, his pronouncements, no matter how inane, bear the presumption of being the Court’s official stand.
Question: Did Te clear such drivel with the members of the Supreme Court? Or at least with the Chief Justice?
If not—and I strongly believe Te made the statement on prime TV sans Supreme Court imprimatur—I agree with Rene Saguisag that he should resign. Otherwise, the Supreme Court should fire him.
