The Duterte administration should highlight more often its economic agenda for the next six years.
President Duterte’s economic thrust has apparently been overshadowed or eclipsed by his total war on drugs, criminality and corruption.
More good news on the economic front should be fed to the media to entice local and foreign investors into investing in the Philippines.
The heads of the economic team of the government, such as the National Economic and Development Authority, the Department of Finance and the Department of Trade and Industry should be more aggressive in painting a rosy picture or positive image of the Philippines to counter the negative news in the foreign media about the so-called extrajudicial killings.
With the Philippines as an acknowledged economic performer in Asia and elsewhere in the world, President Duterte should explore more possibilities to lure potential investors to our country and not bent his ire on the European Union and rating agency Standard and Poor’s.
Enough of those rhetoric, please.
