THERE IS no greater love than a father’s love. It is exceptional. It is immeasurable. This was described by my best friend who is the daughter of a military man. She always describes her father as a loving and caring dad to his family, but strong-willed when it comes to his duty as a soldier. She considers her dad as her protector who always keeps her away from harm. She is very proud of her “soldier dad.”
She also says that she openly, and with all her heart, shares her father’s dedication to the country and to the Filipino people because she can see her father’s commitment and love for the country. Her profession of her father’s patriotism strikes me most whenever I see soldiers. I have this great respect for them. I value their sacrifices for our people and country. They are like our fathers who are willing to risk their lives to save us. That’s how they love our motherland and, of course, the Filipino people.
They long for peace as much as we do. We may not be able to talk to them personally, but showing our support to them will truly be appreciated by them. It will give them more courage to do their duties. It can also lift their morale, especially in times of challenges.
Any support from a single Filipino would mean a lot to our soldiers. How much more the support of the masses!
Let’s support and pray for our soldiers and for lasting peace.
