Books are my treasures

Books are very important. They expand my vocabulary, and my imagination. Books help me escape reality. They help me get away from the troubles that I am experiencing.

I know that nowadays people prefer e-books to actual books. But e-books can be harmful to my health (with radiation and all), whereas real books are my harmless joy.

If someone asks me what my favorite book is, it would be very hard for me to reply. Such a difficult question! I love many books, such as the Percy Jackson Book Series by Rick Riordan, The Kane Chronicles also by Rick Riordan, The

To me, books are like time-traveling portals to where I would love to stay forever. Books are my treasures because they contain lessons and insights about life. When I find myself in doubt, I often ask myself what a certain character in a certain book would do.

I love spending my time in a bookstore, looking for the perfect book to read. One time, while my cousin and I were waiting for my mother, we went inside a bookstore to look at books and search for the perfect read. Time passed so fast; we later realized that we had been in the bookstore for hours!

Sometimes, I ask myself why I love reading books so much. I tell myself: “Because I love them.”  During an earthquake drill in school, my classmate Julianna (who also loves to read) and I brought novels with us while we were “evacuating.” A classmate of ours spotted us and said: “Even if there’s an earthquake, the two of you still read!” We laughed and just continued reading.

Whenever I have money, I usually spend it on books. And because I have a lot of books, I keep asking my parents for a new bookshelf.
