Time to bury Ferdie Marcos

/ 12:10 AM August 26, 2016

Way back Oct. 4, 1989, I was lucky to have my letter about the Marcos homecoming published in the Inquirer. In that letter I wrote that sacrifices must be made by those who really love and believe in Ferdinand Marcos: They should forgo in the meantime any plans to bury his remains in our country; that the time will come when he can come home and be buried here.

Now, after 27 years, that time has come. Our new President Duterte has given his blessings for the remains of Marcos to be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani. Again, many of our people are protesting the plan.

And again, I believe sacrifices must be made by those who sincerely love and respect the former president and allow him to be buried beside his mother as he wished when he was living. This way his memory will not be used to sow division but to promote peace among our people here and  abroad.
