Welcome to politics, as a version of show biz
Sen. Leila de Lima must have felt like getting kicked in the pit of her stomach after that juicy exposé of President Duterte about her “driver sweet lover” and their “dangerous liaison” because she cried, “Foul!”
She probably wished Duterte just crushed her hand when he shook it in a friendly gesture as he was going to the Congress podium for his first State of the Nation Address.
Well, the senator should have anticipated that the skeletons in her closet would soon come out and she would have to face the music. And she should have expected it no less from Duterte whom she continues to accuse of being behind the extrajudicial killing of suspected drug traffickers in Metro Manila without presenting any evidence.
Article continues after this advertisementDidn’t she watch Fernando Poe Jr.’s movie “Kapag Puno na ang Salop,” where the Panday hero said, “ay kailangan nang kalusin.”
The movie’s plot is kind of “in tune” with this latest scandal only that the late actor’s role was exposing corrupt members of the judiciary instead of the quirky backgrounds of politicians.
The senator should realize that she is now in the intrigue-filled world of politics, which is like show biz. Welcome aboard, Madam Senator!
