Cagayan governor did right by removing Enrile bust

/ 12:14 AM July 22, 2016

Why, indeed, was there a bust of a living official in one of our towns when the norm is only dead ones are thus honored (“‘Enrile bust’ ordered demolished by new Cagayan gov,” Across the Nation, 7/6/16)?

Kudos to Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba for having that offending bust demolished—a la Saddam Hussein after he was overthrown in Iraq—to his people’s jubilation.

Discredited men like Enrile (and the infamous Ferdinand Marcos) belong to the junk heap of Philippine history. No apologist can whitewash his sins against the nation.
