Sometimes a question, if it remains unanswered, transports us into our inner selves like no other. As we try hard to figure things out but fail each time, the same question brings us closer and closer to the Great One who holds the universe in the palm of His hands and who has the answer for every puzzled and troubled soul.
Christina Grimmie, a singer and songwriter, was gunned down by an obscure, lone assassin last June 10 during her concert in Orlando, Florida. Her celebrity coach in “The Voice,” Adam Levine, mourned: “She was taken from us too soon. I am left stunned and confused…”
We grieve over the senseless killing of this young, sweet and rising star who identified herself as a Christian. Being a great American artist, Christina was about to amaze the whole world with her voice and singing. Yet in death, she has captured millions of hearts in a way probably far deeper and better than any living performing sensation today, all for the glory of God Almighty.
I melted watching her video, “Me singing ‘In Christ Alone,’” on YouTube as I sobbed reflecting on that wonderful song and how Jesus Christ, no doubt, was true, loving and faithful throughout the short life she was gifted with.
But, why indeed?
