More greenery along traffic-congested major roads

In recent days, the air quality index of Pasay City has gone from bad to worst.

So, its tourism come-on or logo, “Pasay City—A Healthy City,” is misleading and quite deceiving.

The concentration of too many vehicles due to traffic congestion at the intersections of Edsa-Taft Avenue, and Gil Puyat Avenue-Taft Avenue, with fumes emitting from very slow-moving or “trapped” vehicles remain a big problem. Not to mention the provincial bus terminals located along these major thoroughfares that clog the intersections, causing traffic and air pollution in this part of the city.

For temporary relief or remedy—that is, to lessen air pollution—the Pasay City government should plant more trees and greenery along the center island of Gil Puyat Avenue and on the plant box underneath the LRT along Taft Avenue.

Moreover, the dirty-looking plant box should be repainted anew.
