God bless VP Leni that she may keep true to her mandate
SEVEN MONTHS ago, a letter I wrote appeared in the Inquirer with the title “Country’s ‘best shot’ at vice presidency” (Opinion, 10/16/15).
In that letter I stated: Rep. Leni Robredo is not only Bicol’s “best shot” at the vice presidency. Her work and dedication as a public servant of the third district of Camarines Sur have proven she is the country’s best shot for the second highest position of the land.
I also said: Leni’s edge was her willingness to go to the peripheries where she was sought for to serve, like her husband did, and that she has proven this to her constituents.

To all those who recognized that Leni is a voice worth listening to, I say thank you for heeding her call, for voting and eventually giving her the chance to prove her worth in the next six years.
As I write this piece I feel goosebumps, just like when Ma’am Leni stood behind the podium, addressing the crowd in Club Filipino, saying that she was finally accepting the call to serve. How profoundly amazing was that scene back then. Now at this point, her public service career, being elected as the 14th vice president, seems just too good to be true. I hope we continue to pray that the President-elect and Ma’am Leni will be faithful to their mandates.
God bless VP Leni!
