The best, not the beast, in Duterte

Presumptive president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s initial moves will be an indication of whether he can be a healing leader or one who will further divide a hurting country. His reaching out to his political adversaries was a very positive move. Let’s pray that he brings out the best, not the beast, in him.

The people have spoken. Let’s now rally behind him and wish him success.

Of course, we will hold him to all the promises he made, including his self-imposed timetable to deliver on those promises.
