Mamasapano, KKK, and ducking the buck

/ 12:12 AM April 28, 2016

“The buck stops here!”— US President Harry Truman

This is in reference to “Purisima, Napeñas found criminally liable” (Front Page, 4/6/16), a report concerning the Mamasapano massacre, bylined Dona Z. Pazzibugan.

This reader shares the citizenry’s respect for the integrity and competence of the incumbent Ombudsman. However,  considering President Aquino’s “habitual tolerance” of his KKK (kamag-anak, kaibigan, kabarilan) and loyalists to members of  the extended Aquino-Cojuangco family, the Ombudsman’s 40-page resolution fails “to close the book” on this misadventure of P-Noy.

The late US President Truman, of modest stature (an ex-haberdasher from Missouri), and chosen by three-termer great president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, to be his “spare tire” earned his place in history.
