An op-ed piece that inspires hope

We would like to thank Prof. Clarita R. Carlos for her heartwarming commentary, “Give the Muslim youth a reason to live” (Opinion, 3/29/16). Indeed, after watching and praying for the desperate youth who ended their lives or who were victims in various bombings, her commentary fills one with hope.

May the leaders who read her piece take heed of Carlos’ call. Carlos, a retired political science professor, has gained so much experience in life from educating so many youth.

I also commend the Inquirer’s front-page photos. Nevertheless, it would have been more objective and in line with the commentary of Carlos if the full text of Pope Francis’ homilies or messages, especially those for Easter Vigil and Good Friday, had been published.
