Justices warned of impeachment

/ 12:12 AM February 23, 2016

Our present Supreme Court is broken. It no longer decides cases on the basis of what is constitutional and legal but on the basis of emotion and compassion. A case in point: the Enrile case. It granted bail where bail is not allowed by law. Being the court of last resort, the Supreme Court’s only reference in all its decisions should be the law and the Constitution. No ifs, ands or buts. Otherwise, the Supreme Court is inviting legal chaos.

The Court is again being called upon to decide on a highly emotionally charged case: the disqualification of Grace Poe from the presidential race come May. At this time, some justices and their chief are already showing their legal slip. Again, I can sense that emotion and compassion will take the better of their legal minds.

Please, our dear justices. Do not go down that road again. Because if you do, you will be inviting a citizen to file impeachment charges against you for violation of your oath of office and the Constitution.
