Carmma welcomed, truth-telling needed
THIS IS in reference to the terrific full-page anti-Marcos advertisement that appeared on Page A6 of the Feb. 9 issue of the Inquirer.
Congratulations to the members of the Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacañang (Carmma), and to the Inquirer for running their terrific statement. One wishes this would be featured in all the English-language and vernacular newspapers throughout the archipelago.
Such truth-telling is necessary today. Many of the younger generations of Filipinos are clueless about that dark era or prefer to ignore it. It is also vital in shaming those of the older and middle-aged generations who chose to be spineless and who mindlessly supported that entire Marcos clan. The crimes committed during the Marcos regime need to be punished, but unfortunately few in power have had the guts to tackle this long-festering issue.
Congratulations again to Carmma for upholding the truth and for their abiding sense of justice.
