Beautified center island left to ‘rot’

/ 12:14 AM February 13, 2016

This is an urgent appeal to the city government of Pasay City, led by Mayor Antonino Calixto: Save the once beautified center island of Gil Puyat Avenue from Roxas Boulevard to Taft Avenue. The island is now littered with all kinds of trash and, at times, illegal settlers are occupying it, destroying it’s well-manicured garden.

The center island should be maintained regularly and street dwellers should be stopped from occupying it. Pasay City’s social welfare and development services arm has the duty to help out street dwellers for their full rehabilitation.

The ningas kogon mentality of our city officials are again at work in this noteworthy project. What a waste of taxpayer money. After spending quite a fortune for this center island project, they are leaving it to “rot.”
