I don’t want to see anyone get hurt and I can’t agree with those wishing for President Aquino and his Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya to get run over by a train for the former’s failure in fulfilling his promise to have the LRT Line-1 extension completed within his presidency. But I do want Mr. Aquino to be held accountable not only for his failed promises but also for his mistakes and abuse of power. And there are aplenty.
The Disbursement Acceleration Program-related anomalies are just among Mr. Aquino’s sins against the Filipino people. He should also be held liable for allowing a suspended police chief to get involved in a highly sensitive, top secret operation that eventually saw 44 Special Action Force cops killed. For these,
Mr. Aquino deserves to be punished.
