AS AN avid reader of my friend Mon Tulfo’s column, I wish to respond to his question as to which do we prefer—an official who admits to being a womanizer or one who has many wives and queridas but hides the fact (“Let him who is without sin…,” Metro, 12/8/15).
We must say neither of them, for both are not right. The fact of admission cannot right what is wrong, neither can it justify the marital infidelity. The one who hides it, on the one hand, is aware it is wrong for which reason he is ashamed to disclose it. I am not being self-righteous or adopting a holier-than-thou sentiment. Neither am I making any accusation. The plain fact and simple truth—both are instances of infidelity to the vow of marriage.
