Delivery of justice hampered by absence of prosecutors in towns

In our justice system’s prosecution structure, a vacuum exists. There are no prosecutors in the municipalities. This hampers the delivery of justice to people in the municipalities and their barangays.

A prosecutor in every town is needed. By placing a prosecutor in every municipality, the people will feel assured that their rights are protected at every level of the criminal justice process.

The police officers are not equipped to do legal battle with lawyers. Most of the time, cases of the “People of the Philippines” are lost at the municipal level. There is an imperative need to assign a prosecutor to every municipality.
