‘AlDub’ can be educational, not just entertaining

/ 12:10 AM November 13, 2015

“AlDub” is very popular because it is highly effective in providing the masses with relief from stress. Although it gives short-term joy, it does not provide lasting happiness, the kind that comes with a solid, permanent solution to a marital, financial, school, traffic, or security problem.

It is like taking a painkiller to cure a toothache. The pain will be gone for some time but it will return because the tooth decay causing the ache has not been addressed. Temporary relief through analgesics, cigarettes, alcohol and entertainment—TV is here to entertain, not to educate—can be addictive without being truly curative.

I hope the creators of AlDub enlighten the viewers on the root causes of their misery and empower people to transcend their plight.
