Two kinds of justice, for powerful and pitiful

The news report titled “Dismissed PMA cadet returns to SC, cites humanitarian grounds for papers’ release” (News, 9/11/15) provides a stark contrast to how the Supreme Court metes out “justice” for the powerful and the pitiful.

While having no problem with giving Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile the benefit of “humanitarian considerations,” the Supreme Court came down hard and without mercy on former Philippine Military Academy cadet Aldrin Jeff Cudia, a young man totally bereft of power or influence, for a mistake that by far pales into insignificance compared to the charges of plunder against Enrile.

What kind of rotten justice is the Supreme Court dispensing in this country?
