SO,“BINAY prefers college forum to facing Senate” (News, 9/17/15). On his premature electioneering sorties around the country, Vice President Jejomar Binay said he enjoys delivering a talk before students. But of course. Students don’t ask tough questions. They can’t stop him from rambling on and talking tommyrot. They don’t have the documentary evidence the senators can put in front of his face when he lies!
Binay added: “Ang problema dun (in the Senate) ’yung demeanor, at least dito hindi bastusan.” That is so lame. But really, if that ever happens in the Senate, he can always walk out, can’t he? He will surely come out the better man for it, standing tall and all. Besides, he is not that helpless—what with his own daughter, Sen. Nancy Binay, fiercely looking out for him! Sa totoo lang, takot siyang harapin ang katotohanan, pure and simple! He has nothing to say in his defense against charges of massive corruption and plunder backed by documentary evidence.
As the saying goes, ang isda ay nahuhuli sa sariling bibig. If there is any bit of doubt at all about those accusations, it will be removed completely once he opens his mouth in the Senate. So why risk it? That was ousted chief justice Renato Corona’s big mistake. The right against self-incrimination worked perfectly for him, but he was just too full of himself and defied the counsel of his lawyers! Apparently, Binay learned from that mistake well.
