Blinded by cake, writer failed to see ‘ghosts’

RUDY L. Coronel completely missed the point about the ongoing investigation regarding Makati’s “ghost seniors” (“Cruto’s testimony may end up favoring VP Binay,” Letters, 8/27/15). He focused on the token benefits that the senior citizens of Makati receive annually and did not even mention the major point of the process, which is to probe the actual number of senior citizens in Makati. Based on its initial findings, the ongoing house-to-house investigation is leading to the conclusion that the list of the city’s senior citizens is bloated—just like Makati has ghost employees.
