Revealed: the real Jejomar Binay as a friend

VICE PRESIDENT Jejomar Binay was reported to have said that in spite of the running word war he has with President Aquino, he still considers him a friend. I really get sick in the stomach when the Vice President talks about the enduring friendship he has with P-Noy in spite of the venom spewing out of his mouth, as he accuses the Aquino administration of being “palpak” and “manhid.” Now at last, who the real person Binay is has shown himself: nothing but a chameleon masquerading as a friend.

For five years, as a member of the P-Noy Cabinet, he should have known the serious problems of the country. He should have become privy to them through the regular Cabinet meetings where he was present. But this “friend” of P-Noy kept silent all along. Christ, too, had a “friend” who betrayed Him. Brutus was Caesar’s “friend,” as well.

Perhaps, some of the big problems that bedevil the country today would have been mitigated if Binay had actively helped in solving them.
But beneath the veneer of “approval” for P-Noy’s programs lurked a sinister plan to put down his administration in pursuit of the presidency—a pursuit driven by burning ambition.

During his own “State of the Nation Address” which he delivered on Aug. 3, 2015, Binay waxed eloquent before a captive audience composed mostly of students from various schools in Cavite province. He regaled them by enumerating the problems of the Aquino administration. But not a word on how he would solve them if he became president (God forbid!) come 2016.
