Clarification to Panganiban’s Aug. 9 column

12:51 AM August 24, 2015

THIS IS to clarify a key point in former chief justice Artemio V. Panganiban’s “Update on PDAF cases of 3 senators” (Opinion, 8/9/15).

The Ombudsman’s finding of probable cause, not the Sandiganbayan’s, is what Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is contesting before the Supreme Court in his petition for certiorari and prohibition dated June 16, 2014, docketed as GR No. 212694-95, titled

“Revilla, Jr., et al. v. Office of the Ombudsman, et al.” The petition, however, has not been dismissed and is still pending resolution by the Supreme Court.
