A president for all, not of a few

/ 02:12 AM August 14, 2015

As the Liberal Party standard-bearer, Interior Secretary Mar Roxas should prove or show his worth to allay the fears of his detractors that he may not be the right person for the job awaiting the next president of the Philippines.

With his lackluster performance in the Zamboanga siege, Bohol earthquake and Supertyphoon “Yolanda” in Leyte, Filipino voters doubt his ability and capacity to govern during times of crisis.

Although his honesty and integrity are beyond question, Filipinos are looking for an action president or a renaissance president who could lead or propel our country to economic prosperity and beyond. Also, Filipinos want a unifying president not bound by the political colors—yellow, red, orange, blue, etc.—that divide us as a nation.

In other words, a president for all, not of a few.
