The die is cast, let’s rally for the country

Interior Secretary Mar Roxas has been proclaimed as the Liberal Party’s presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.

President Aquino has anointed him as the right person to continue the journey on the straight path he has started. There is no turning back to the old ways or veering away from the right road to the nobler objective.

We cannot stake the future in the “perhaps” or in the “maybe,” like others profess; we must stake the future in the certainty that the steering wheel is in safe and trustworthy hands.

This country cannot afford to lose whatever modest gains we have achieved. However modest, “a sparrow in our hand is much better than an eagle in flight.” We call on the civil society, on everyone who wish our country well, to join hands against evil and those who do our people ill; to come together, steel our resolve and employ more energy in our fight against the forces of darkness that threaten to bring back this nation to the gloomy days of the past.

Let us “rally behind Roxas,” for the good of this country, for the good of our people and for a brighter future for our children.
