Poe’s survey lead an indictment of the Aquino administration

Grace Poe’s lead in most polls, more than anything, shows that the people have had enough of President Aquino’s inept, porky, antipeople and massacre-prone administration. Liberal Party and Mr. Aquino’s bet Mar Roxas is kulelat, while the ratings of Vice President Jejomar Binay, while still a member of the Aquino Cabinet, slid.

Poe’s rise may be attributed to her “independent” stance, and her distancing from Mr. Aquino and the corrupt LP. Her pointing to Mr. Aquino as ultimately responsible for the Mamasapano offensive was a turning point. Initially, she floated the idea of being endorsed by the President and running as LP’s candidate for vice president but got flak for it. Mr. Aquino’s blessing at this point is clearly a kiss of death.

Poe should veer further away from Mr. Aquino and his army of pork lovers, and focus instead on developing a propeople platform. She should stand up against tuition hikes and rising school fees,

support the fight for a national minimum wage hike and an end to contractualization, end the privatization of public utilities, and fight for genuine land reform and freedom for political prisoners.
