Reminder to service providers, public and private

/ 12:01 AM May 15, 2015

It may be a good reminder to all who provide any services to the public, be they in government or in the private sector: The standards of any service function are four—prompt, effective, cost- and effort-efficient, and friendly (or at least, courteous).

Regular performance appraisals by those in charge at all levels should distinguish the performers from the nonperformers. The performers should be rewarded, and the nonperformers should be considered for termination.

Vigilance over this critical function of appraisal should improve services provided by government and private entities, nationwide.
