Veloso’s reprieve calls to mind Sarah

01:21 AM May 11, 2015

THE SAVING of Mary Jane Veloso’s life brings to mind the successful effort of former United Arab Emirates ambassador Roy V. Señeres in saving the life of Sarah Balabagan and other overseas Filipino workers. Because of Señeres, Sarah and other OFWs now live happily in the safe company of loved ones and friends in the Philippines.

Señeres, on the other hand, after a stint as chair of the National Labor Relations Commission, has continued his advocacy of helping the neglected in Philippine society by sitting in Congress as OFW Family Club party-list representative and founder of the Rose Movement, a nationwide organization promoting security of employment.
