“Abu Sayyaf on the run,” meaning, these bandits do not have what it takes to fight government forces. The leadership and members of the United States- and Canada-based Fil-Am Fil-Can Alliance, a flagship NGO of Filipino working professionals up here in the western front (which has as members a retired field commander of the Philippine Army and Navy and Air Force officers), as well as our members in the land- and sea-based Filipino workers across the globe and fast-growing number of Philippine-based members, wish to thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff, Gen. Pio Catapang, and his officers and fighting men, for showing strength in dealing with the terrorist bandits Abu Sayyaf.
We now believe very strongly that, only the joint forces of the AFP and the Philippine National Police are our last best bet to put an end to the existence of MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front), MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) and BIFF (Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters) bandits, thereby achieving the goal of securing lasting peace and freedom from fear for the people of Maguindanao—a dream they have long wanted for themselves.
