Manila must be at par with the best cities

To make the gateway to Manila’s downtown area aesthetically appealing to motorists and pedestrians alike, the city government should landscape and spruce up the broad center island along Taft Avenue approaching the iconic Post Office Building.

Ditto with Liwasang Bonifacio that was beautified before but is now totally neglected and needs a lot of improvement.

For several months now, homeless families, street urchins, vendors, etc. have been frequenting the center island. Since the island is just a few meters away from Manila City Hall, the committee in charge of Manila’s urban renewal program should give it some attention.

Manila as the political, cultural, financial and educational capital of the Philippines, then and now, should be at par with other progressive cities in Southeast Asia.
