Higher monthly pension for WWII vets this year?

/ 12:01 AM March 09, 2015

On Jan. 10, 2014, the Inquirer reported that the committee on veterans affairs of the House of Representatives is seeking the passage of a law that will raise the pension of World War II veterans to P20,000 a month and that the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office’s administrator, Ernesto Carolina, is hoping that a law to that effect will see implementation starting 2015 (“War vets’ pension to rise to P20,000,” News, 1/10/14).

I hope and pray that such a law will materialize soonest, before the veterans are all gone. Aanhin pa ang damo kung patay na ang kabayo (What for is the hay when the horse is dead)?
