IC acts on planholder’s concern

01:29 AM January 10, 2015

This is with regard to the letter titled “PR man’s inaction brings plea to insurance commissioner’s lap” (Opinion, 1/3/15).

The concern of the letter-writer, Lauro G. Novenario, has already been acted upon by the Insurance Commission (IC). In fact, Novenario received a BDO check (No. 0531264) on Jan. 6, 2015. All the while, the check was ready for release. The commission, through the conservator of Prudentialife Plans Inc. (PPI), started distributing the checks due PPI planholders with memorial plans since August 2013.

Also, lawyer Chris A. Rafal is no longer connected with the commission since the latter part of 2014.
