Oblation Run a show of fear and embarrassment
A group of UP Diliman students recently held the annual Oblation Run around the campus, doing this in their “birthday attire” but for the covered faces, like the past runs were done. But many UP alumni do not find this activity amusing or as something to be proud of.
Whatever the runners are fighting against or for—corruption, justice for missing activists, colonialism, or any other cause—they should wear clothes. They should fight with their heads up and without covering their faces—without any sign of fear or embarrassment.
