Is SSS holding on to its best-kept secrets?

There are retirees who were able to get additional retirement benefits not originally paid them by the Social Security System. According to some retirees these unpaid amounts cover 1984 through 1989, during which period the SSS transitioned to a new computer system.

I also learned that beneficiaries are advised to resurrect old SSS receipts covered by the 5-year period prior to the adjudication of retirement pension.

But there are problems:

1. What if the employers had long ceased operation?

2. What if the old receipts are all gone as a result of calamities like fire, floods or typhoons?

3. Why oblige unproductive and demential senior citizens to submit past receipts?

The SSS has all the means to retrieve past and present transactions at the click of a mouse. Or are these the SSS’ best-kept secrets?
