Committed, passionate PDI contributor to be missed

02:28 AM November 14, 2014

Veteran journalist-lawyer Manuel F. Almario, a regular contributor to Inquirer Opinion, quietly slipped into the night very much unlike the rage of his committed life. He was a fierce nationalist. A sucker for the underdog, he fought for the downtrodden and the oppressed. Those were two advocacies that consumed his entire life.

I bumped into him at an old watering hole for retired journalists several days before his passing. He was old, sad and grim, and yet still deeply passionate. We will miss him.
