Past, recent actuations unmasked real Roxas

/ 12:01 AM November 03, 2014

We all know President Aquino and his buddy Interior Secretary Mar Roxas are rich, privileged people with an elitist mentality, who grew into adulthood as spoiled brats living a lavish and fancy life.

Roxas’ attitude toward poor Filipinos is not helping him and the Aquino administration which is trying hard to reverse the elitist perception of them. Recently, Roxas blamed local executives for the slow pace of rehabilitation and rebuilding of Bohol a year after it was destroyed by an earthquake. And before that, if we may recall, immediately after Super Typhoon “Yolanda,” he blamed the mayor of Tacloban City for its failure to receive assistance from the national government.

Through such behavior Roxas has, time and again, proven himself detached from the masses. And yes, there was that report on Roxas yelling and cursing an employee of a swanky Manila golf club/resort. The employee was simply doing his job—asking Roxas to pay the green fee for a guest. This showed once more the Aquino administration’s low regard for the poor.

No wonder the masses, especially the victims of the Bohol earthquake and Yolanda, are not getting proper assistance from the present government.
