It ain’t over. Mothers of disappeared students are certainly not giving up; they are asking private prosecution lawyers to further pursue all legal options to get former general Jovito Palparan out of military camp and move him to an ordinary civilian jail where he should be.
To continue allowing the military to serve as bodyguards of a remorseless fugitive from justice cracks not only the law and logic but all sense of decency. It is simply unfair and unacceptable.
Special treatment for someone long retired from military service, facing horrific rights charges, and now waltzing like a homecoming hero taunts the victims’ search for real justice and consecrates impunity.
