The anomalies allegedly involving the Binays are outrageous, and the people didn’t expect President Aquino to react by simply saying, “I do not have personal knowledge [of these anomalies].”
Politically motivated or not, the accusations are serious and alarming. P-Noy must be grateful that under his watch and for the first time in the nation’s annals, corruption exposés are happening left and right. It is commendable that we have government officials and whistle-blowers today who have the heart to do right and be heroic.
Will the people allow vultures to soar higher?
It now behooves Vice President Jejomar Binay, who is popular among the masa, to overlook politics and prove (not portray) himself innocent to the same class of people who suffer the most as a consequence of crookedness in government and society. That is, if Binay wants to win in the 2016 presidential election and become a worthy occupant of Malacañang after President Aquino.
Corruption is among the worst forms of cruelty in public service. Where corruption thrives, everyone pays. May it not be said again in our country that bad criminals go to jail and the best one goes to Malacañang.
