Welcome flags for Francis

/ 12:02 AM September 01, 2014

I write this to suggest to my fellow Filipinos who call ourselves Catholics that we all unite to show our warm welcome for Pope Francis when he comes to the country next year.

Only a few may be privileged to meet with him in person, but let’s show that we, Catholics, welcome him into our homes, too.

Specifically, I suggest that we manifest this welcome by displaying Philippine flags intertwined with Vatican flags outside the windows of our homes, cars, jeepneys, buses, etc. The flags may be produced by any authorized lay organization and sold to parishioners at reasonable prices. Perhaps for those who cannot afford, the flags should be given free.

Funds raised for the purpose may be used by the parishes concerned for any Church project.

Salamat po.
