Unprecedented chance for government

Through all the revelations and the ongoing drama of outrageous corruption by our legislators and officials, something great is happening in our country these days: The government is being given the chance to truly and fully address the deep-seated malaise of corruption and depravity in public service, and in society as a whole. This is unprecedented.

To counter the exposés and stave off evidence, those involved in the pork barrel and Malampaya fund scams are inventing lies and engaging in machinations to muddle issues and project for themselves a public image of “innocence.”

Now they are trying to link Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to an alleged irregularity in her department, probably thinking that by attacking her integrity and by way of “mass confusion” or “controversy exhaustion,” they can be absolved of their crimes. They are wrong.  Psychology has never succeeded in covering sins and in thwarting the truth.

Let justice roll on.
