What has Aquino done for labor?

If we are to believe the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Philippines has the highest unemployment rate among the Asean members. President Aquino’s only response to this is to boast about the reforms and initiatives that his administration has achieved for the Philippine labor sector.

How can President Aquino make such claims when the Philippines has the highest unemployment rate in the region? In fact, ILO warned the country’s unemployment rate could yet go up.

If President Aquino really wants to keep to the “daang matuwid,” he should be honest and come clean and accept reality. No more “Jedi mind tricks” to fool the Filipino into thinking that by saying the opposite of what the ILO report says, he can somehow change the truth and hide the fact that his administration has not accomplished much to lower the unemployment rate. In other words, he should admit that he has essentially done nothing for the Philippine labor sector.
