Postponed voting disrespects law

09:23 PM July 08, 2011

BANSA KO MAHAL KO decries the postponement of the elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and its synchronization with the 2013 elections, in violation of its organic charter, thereby depriving its people of their democratic right to choose their own leaders in free and fair elections.

BANSA KO MAHAL KO views the postponement as a blatant move to secure control of the billions of pesos allocated for the region’s elections, as well as political control to benefit the administration in the runup to the 2013 elections.

BANSA KO MAHAL KO strongly supports all cases and petitions questioning the passage of House Bill 4146, which is constitutionally untenable and an arrogant disrespect for the law.
