’Twas Senator Aquilino Pimentel III who said it, not Senator Teofisto Guingona III
I noted that the editorial in the March 5 issue of the Inquirer (“Special court necessary”) attributed the following statements to me:
“‘The Sandiganbayan is already a special court,’ he said, warning it may be thought that trust in the antigraft court had been eroded. ‘Baka sabihin indirectly na nawawalan na tayo ng tiwala sa Sandiganbayan’.”
I would like to make the following of record: One, I never made these statements, neither in public nor in private huddle. Two, I have not taken any position on the issue of special courts.

The statement was made by Sen. Aquilino Pimentel III, not by Sen. Teofisto Guingona III. Our regrets—Ed.
