One way to redeem Congress’ image

There is a way to bring down power costs for consumers and at the same time redeem Congress’ bad image in the public’s eye as a result of the pork barrel scam. I would like to propose that lawmakers recommend to Congress that their pork barrel allocations be spent in purchasing solar panels that can be used to power light posts in their districts.

Solar panels may not come cheap but they will still provide huge savings in the long term. We are a tropical country and we have the sun for free for more time than other nations, thus making use of solar panels is cost-effective and makes sense.

By investing in solar panels, lawmakers can help their districts cut down on their power costs.

I would like to suggest that the savings from the reduced power bill be used to pay for the power consumption costs of people in these districts. I believe people will appreciate this gesture of

lawmakers, who may yet regain the public’s trust.
