Two years after, same (wanting) quality of service

/ 01:06 AM February 20, 2014

About two years ago, I complained about the defective ticket vending machines (TVMs) and escalators/elevators of several LRT and MRT stations.  The public relations manager of the Light Rail Transit Authority, Evelyn Paragas, replied that “the management… is exerting all its effort to fast-track the delivery of various spare parts needed for the restoration of all defective TVMs, escalators and elevators…

“In regard to TVMs that do not accept new coins, the TVM software will require upgrading and calibration by its manufacturer in France in order to accept new coins being circulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.”

More than two years have passed but the conditions are still the same.  Have pity on us, senior citizens, who cannot go up some stations because we can’t use the stairs. Poor passengers also have to endure long lines because the TVMs are useless.
